How to Convert JPG to PDF on iPhone (Pinch Trick)

Turn a JPG into a PDF on an iPhone with the share sheet: open the photo, tap Share → Print, pinch the preview outward, and Save as PDF. That’s the hidden trick — no apps, no uploads, and multiple photos combine into one PDF automatically.
JPG to PDF on iPhone, step by step
- Open the photo in the Photos app — or select several for a multi-page PDF.
- Tap the Share button (square with arrow).
- Tap Print.
- On the print preview, pinch outward with two fingers — the preview zooms and a Save as PDF option appears at the top.
- Tap it, choose where to save (Files), done.
If you selected several photos, they come out as one multi-page PDF in the order you selected them. That’s the standard way people turn photo stacks into documents — receipts, handouts, ID pages.
When you’d rather use an app or tool
The share-sheet trick is great for a handful of photos. For bigger jobs, the browser route scales better: open the PDF tools page in Safari, upload the images, reorder, download. Use that when you have dozens of images or need page-size control.
The honest part
Three things to know:
- The PDF is a snapshot. The photo becomes a picture on a page — no text to select or edit. If the photo is a scan of a document and you need the words, run OCR instead.
- Photo size becomes PDF size. A 12-megapixel photo makes a chunky PDF page. If the result is too heavy to email, shrink it after converting.
- Print-order matters. The PDF follows your selection order — if page 1 and page 3 swapped, select the photos in the right order next time (or reorder with a browser tool).
